CalcMate privacy policy

SempaQ does not collect your personal data. CalcMate runs on your device. There is no account or login, and nothing is sent to our servers. Ads are provided by Google AdMob, which may use device identifiers (see Ads below).

The following is stored on your device and is never sent to us (from version 1.2.4 it can also be part of Android's own backup to your Google account, see Android Auto Backup below):

• App preferences (theme, language, haptics, decimal places)
• Your language choice (Auto follows your device; or English, Bahasa Indonesia, Español, Français, Português, العربية, Deutsch)
• History of calculations (stored locally via AsyncStorage)
• My Tools preferences (favorite tools list)
• Default currency preference
• Live rates cache (currency data cached locally)
• Your ad consent state and Remove Ads (Pro) status (cached locally)

How long we store your data

All data stored by CalcMate is kept locally on your device:

• Calculation history: stored until you manually clear it or uninstall the app
• Settings & preferences (including language and ad consent): stored until you uninstall the app
• My Tools customization: stored until you manually reset or uninstall the app

We do not store any personal data on our servers. A copy kept by Android Auto Backup is managed in your Google account and can be turned off or deleted there.

How to delete your data

Option 1: Clear app data
Go to your device Settings → Apps → CalcMate → Storage → Clear Data.
This will delete ALL app data including calculation history, settings & preferences, My Tools customization, default currency setting, and ad consent state.

Option 2: Uninstall the app
Uninstalling CalcMate removes all locally stored data from your device.

Option 3: Clear history manually
Open CalcMate → History tab → tap the delete icon to remove individual entries.

Third-party data
For data collected by third-party services (Google AdMob), Google's data retention policies apply; purchase records are kept by Google Play. See the Google Privacy Policy.

CalcMate requests only network access, used solely to fetch live currency rates. It does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, or storage permissions.

From version 1.2.4, CalcMate allows Android Auto Backup. Depending on your device's backup settings, Android may back up CalcMate's app data (calculation history, My Tools favorites, and settings) to your Google account, so it can be restored when you reinstall CalcMate or set up a new device.

This backup is created, encrypted, and managed by Google under the Google Privacy Policy. SempaQ cannot access, read, or delete it. You can turn backup off at any time in your device settings (Settings → Google → Backup, wording varies by device).

From version 1.2.4, CalcMate's Settings screen lists other SempaQ apps (Tactix, Dottle, Sowly). Tapping one opens its Google Play page; the link tells Google Play that the visit came from CalcMate, so we can see in Play Console how many installs this list brings. To hide apps you already have, CalcMate checks on your device whether those SempaQ apps are installed. This check stays on your device, needs no extra permission, and nothing is sent to us.

CalcMate shows a banner ad served by Google AdMob. It does not show interstitial (full-screen) or rewarded ads. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID), device and app information, approximate location derived from your IP address, and ad interactions to serve and measure personalized or non-personalized ads. SempaQ does not receive this data; Google handles it under the Google Privacy Policy.

You can reset or opt out of personalized advertising in your Android settings (Settings → Privacy → Ads, wording varies by device).

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, CalcMate shows a consent form powered by Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) the first time you open the app, before ads are requested. You can accept or decline, and your choice determines whether ads are personalized. Your choice is stored on your device.

Change your choice later: open CalcMate → Settings → Privacy options (shown where consent is required, and for users in certain US states) to review or change your consent or privacy choice at any time.

If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law (for example California), you can choose to opt out of having your data "sold or shared" for interest-based advertising.

How to opt out: open CalcMate → Settings → Privacy options → choose Don't sell or share my data. There is no automatic pop-up; the option is available in Settings. Your choice is processed through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP).

Ads will still be shown, but they will not be personalized based on data shared for that purpose. SempaQ itself does not sell personal data and does not collect personal data on any server. Questions? Email hello@sempaq.com.

Remove Ads is a one-time purchase (no subscription) that removes ads. It is processed entirely by Google Play Billing. SempaQ never receives or stores your card or payment details. We only learn, through Google Play, whether the purchase is active on your Google account so the app can remove ads.

Use Restore purchase in the app if you reinstall or switch devices. See the Google Privacy Policy and Google Play Terms of Service.

The Currency Converter fetches live exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API. Only your IP address is visible to the API as part of the HTTP request. No personal data is sent.

CalcMate does not use Crashlytics, Firebase Analytics, or any analytics or crash-reporting SDK of our own. SempaQ does not track how you use the app. The only third-party SDKs that communicate over the network are Google AdMob (ads and consent) and Google Play Billing (purchases).

CalcMate does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. It is a general-purpose utility and does not target children.

We may update this policy from time to time. Any change is reflected on this page with a new effective date.
