How do you play Dots and Boxes?
Take turns joining two neighbouring dots with a line. Whoever draws the fourth side of a box claims it and moves again. When every box is claimed, the player with the most boxes wins. A draw is possible when the number of boxes is even.
Is Dottle free?
Dottle will be free to download and play. It shows a banner ad below the board, a short full-screen ad after some games, and optional rewarded ads for extra Hints, extra Undos and Second Chance. A one-time purchase of $1.99, Dottle Pro, removes ads, gives unlimited Hint and Undo, and unlocks the Neon theme and Custom Box. No subscription.
Does Dottle work offline?
Yes. Every mode and board size works without an internet connection, and no account is needed. Scores, saved games and settings stay on your device. Ads need a connection to load.
How does the AI difficulty work?
VS AI is adaptive. You start on Easy, and the AI moves up a level each time you win. Hard plays the endgame exactly when few lines remain and uses chain strategy earlier. On large boards it is a tough challenge but is not claimed to be unbeatable.
What is Custom Box?
A Dottle Pro feature. Choose a photo for each player and it appears inside the boxes that player wins. You pick photos with the Android photo picker, so Dottle never gets access to your gallery. Photos stay on your device.
When is Dottle coming out?
Dottle is not released yet. A release date has not been set. This page and the Google Play button will be updated at launch.
What data does Dottle collect?
SempaQ collects no personal data and there are no accounts. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which may use device identifiers, and a consent prompt is shown where required (EEA/UK). See the privacy policy for details.
